Andrew Parise Makes an Early Exit at Maple Grove

This past weekend Parise Racing and team attended the North East Pro Mod Race at Maple Grove Raceway. “With Dina’s car still at MBRC Pro Chassis Design being finished all eyes were focused on my car,” stated Andrew Parise. “It has been a good season for us, but we still have work to do. A lot of little things keep biting us, but we are making great progress with our program.”

Andrew qualified in the number 2 spot with a 6.19 @ 231.48 MPH, with his ’53 Montana Bros Corvette. Unfortunately, Andrew was unable to get around Derrick Townes in round one.

Playing the role of videographer apparently does not fulfill the ‘excitement’ quota for Dina Parise, according to Andrew.“The crew did an amazing job this weekend,” Stated Andrew “ Dave Jordan, James Montana, Scotty Canon yes, even Dina Parise. It was hard on Dina as well (as the rest of us) not to see Dina compete this weekend. I for one can’t wait till she gets back in the car .Some people are meant to crew, some are meant to drive and some are meant to watch. She needs to drive.”

“My ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette is on the mend,” Stated Dina Parise. “She has just left Nick Montana’s shop and is ready for paint. I am ready to get back out there. I really did very well with the video, it’s just not a job I want to keep.”

There is still plenty of racing on the schedule for the team. Parise Racing will be attending the Yellow Bullet Nationals at Cecil County Dragway September 3rd,4th and 5th. Next they will be headed to NHRA Unleashed September 10-11 at National Trail Raceway.

The Parise’s would like to thank Hairy Glass Inc. for their assistance with the ’63 Corvette .

Dina Parise Becomes a Casualty of War !!

Parise Racing has had quite a season so far. With Dina Parise so far having a win and a runner up under her belt, and Andrew setting a National Record in Comp Eliminator, things are looking good. But, in drag racing, as you know, things can change in an instant!

The team has also recently established a working relationship with 6 time IHRA Champion Scotty Cannon (Cannonball Racing) and 2007 IHRA Champion Scott Cannon Jr.

At this point, Scotty is consulting with the team on a race by race basis. Parise Racing is very happy with this relationship so far, and would like to have the opportunity for the working relationship as well as the racing relationship to go to the next level . Parise Racing is hoping to obtain the sponsorship dollars to work with the Cannons full time.

This past weekend, the Parise’s were at Maryland International Raceway for the Northeast Outlaw Pro mod Assoc. Race.

Andrew qualified at #2 at a 6.126 @ 234.45. Tommy Gray was the #1 qualifier with a 6.053 @ 240.38.

It was Andrew defeated FiFi Montrond in 1st round. Andrew ran a 6.067 @228.54 . Andrew Parise lost to Steve King in the the Semi-finals .He broke during the run. Congratulations to Steve King for winning it all! Great job!

“My ’53 MBRC Pro Chassis Design Corvette was really feeling good.” Stated Andrew Parise “ It was running really well. After we ran the .06, we really felt good. The track was there. It was a tough break. We will be back in Maple Grove.”

Andrew’s breakage was not the only bad break for the Parise’s that day. During the 1st round of qualifying, Dina Parise took a hard hit to the driver’s side of her beautiful Military tribute themed ’63 Corvette.

“I am not really sure what happened.” Stated Dina Parise “ I was in the left lane. The car went out about 100 feet and went right on two wheels. I let off the throttle. When she came down, I was ok then bam she shot hard left. To avoid hitting the wall head on, I turned the wheels to the right. I hit the wall, next thing I know, I’m taking flight. As she came back down I could feel her wanting to roll, so I just made the wall my friend. I drove it into the wall a bit, that seemed to do the trick. I’m a fan of keeping the shiny side up, and I was able to. The safety equipment did its job. I’m a bit sore, but none the worse for wear. “

The Parise team would like to thank Royce and Jason Miller and the Emergency crew for their quick response, in a bad situation.

Upon returning to New York, the crew dismantled the ’63 Corvette. The car is on its way to MBRC Pro Chassis Design in Port Jefferson, New York .Nick Montana already in the process of taking a look at it. “We owe a big thanks to Nick Montana at MBRC Pro Chassis Design.” Stated Andrew. “He has put things on hold for us to get Dina’s car in the shop. Now we are just hoping the damage is not too bad.”

The Parise Racing crew had a tough weekend. The strain on the crew when their driver crashes is enormous, now compound that with the fact that they have to still run another car. In the mix is a husband a wife and a brother (Dina’s brother). This team will, no matter what, keep focused. Dina and Andrew would like to thank their team: Crew Chief Dave Jordan, and crew ; Charlie Saccoccio , James Montana, Nick Montana (MBRC Pro Chassis Design), Scotty Cannon and Scott Cannon. Without their hard work and dedication, this team would not be as successful as it is.

Parise Racing Heads to MIR with A New Outlook …

Parise Racing has been very busy during this season. Again, the team is ready for battle and is heading to Maryland International Raceway, this Saturday August 7th for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod association Race.

“We have been doing well this season.” Stated Andrew Parise. “We have a good solid base. We have now decided to work on a few things to take our team to the next level. “

Parise Racing has established a working relationship with none other than 6 time IHRA World Champion Scotty Cannon (Cannonball Racing) and 2007 IHRA World Champion Scott Cannon Jr.

“Our relationship with Scotty is a simple one. “ Stated Dina Parise. “He is consulting with our team. He is working closely with our Crew Chief Dave Jordan, Andrew and I to help to bring our team to the next level. We are hoping to obtain the sponsorship dollars to work with the Cannons full time. At this point, Scotty is consulting with us on a race by race basis. We are very happy with this relationship so far, and would like to have the opportunity for that to go to the next level as well.“

The upcoming Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod assoc. Race is an important one for the team. Dina is currently in the number 2 spot, with 3 more races left after MIR. She has her eyes on the championship! “My ’63 Tim McAmis ,Consultedge Corvette is running well. .”Stated Dina. “I made it to the finals at Maple Grove, and I am ready. We are really getting down to the wire.”

Andrew is currently 11th, and he is ready to make some noise! “We struggled a bit with my ’53 Montana Bros. , Consultedge Corvette. Plus, I had a medical issue. We have that all figured out, and I will not let my wife leave with a win this week.”(He smiles).

Dina Parise makes it to the Finals at Super Chevy in Maple Grove

The combination of the Super Chevy Show and the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association made for a weekend full of beautiful cars and great racing.

For the Parise Racing team, this race was a bit of a double edged sword. Andrew Parise failed to qualify, while Dina Parise went to the finals. Talk about both ends of the spectrum!

Andrew Parise had much more than just horsepower to contend with on this race weekend. “To start out, I never made first the round of qualifying.” Stated Andrew Parise. “I am dealing with a medical issue in my right arm. The pain was unbearable on Friday. I did make the two hits on Saturday, but my ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette smoked the tires both times. So, unfortunately I did not qualify, but in all honesty, I think it was probably for the best. My arm was killing me!”

Dina Parise’s weekend seemed to be going a bit smoother than her husband’s. “We got a shakedown pass in the afternoon, and we shook.” Stated Dina Parise. “I was not too worried about it though. We went back, made a few changes, and came out for the first round of qualifying. My ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette ran a 6.286 at 226.13. That put me in the number one spot and it held for all three rounds of qualifying.”

Dina won round one against Kevin Vanderbeck in his Hudson. In the semi-finals, Dina took on Derrick Townes. She was late at the light, but drove around him for the win. In the finals, it was Dina and Jim Barker. Jim had the advantage on the tree, and won with a 6.461 at 216.41 mph to her 6.471 at 220.26 mph.

“I am disappointed in myself on the loss.” Stated Dina. “I feel like I let my team down. They all worked so hard this weekend.”

Dina and Andrew would like to thank their team for all of their hard work; Crew Chief Dave Jordan, Crew members; Charlie Saccoccio, Rocco Micciolo, James Montana, Nick Montana (Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Design), and Ralphie Pupa.

The Parise’s would like to congratulate Jim Barker on the win. “Jim and his team are some of the nicest people out there.” Stated Dina. “Jim has been a huge supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and our Vettes for Vets program. We really want to thank him for that. He not only makes monetary donations, he takes care of the Military members that visit us on race day as well. I guess if I had to lose, I’m glad it was to Jim.”

Thanks to Maple Grove Raceway, Lex Dudas and Shawn Brobst of Center plate and the track announcers the Parise Racing Vettes for Vets Program was in full swing at the Super Chevy Show/ Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. event! The Military members that were there as VIP’s enjoyed a great day of racing, including lunch with a bird’s eye view from an air-conditioned suite!

The next stop for Parise Racing will be August 7th for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association Race at Maryland International Raceway .Dina is currently in the #2 points position and Andrew is looking to improve on his #11 spot.

Thank you to Mannino’s Restaurant for giving Dina (‘the Chef’) a bit of a cooking break yet again by supplying delicious food for the team!

Parise Racing Heads to Super Chevy on a High note…. Andrew’s National Record

Anyone who knows Parise Racing knows that Maple Grove Super Chevy is where it all began for this team. The original team name was different, but the intentions and the competitive spirit were all the same from the onset.

The team is headed to Maple Grove Raceway for the Super Chevy Show and the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association race, fresh off of Andrew’s record setting runs at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. He is now a national record holder in the Competition Eliminator class (AA/PM). “We had a great weekend at Lebanon Valley.”, Stated Andrew Parise. “I never expected to set a record. I was happy to set the record in my ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette, but I need to thank my team for the great job they did!”

“My ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette unfortunately was a bit of a beast.” Stated Dina Parise. “That is her nickname, you know. She has earned every bit of it. I did enjoy getting to watch some great racing that weekend. And I did actually get to see Andrew’s record run, so that was fun too. Admittedly, it would have been more fun, had it have been me!” She laughs.

One thing the Parise’s do admit is they cannot do this without their team working as hard as they do. Their Crew chief Dave Jordan and the rest of the crew, James Montana (Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Design) and Charlie Saccoccio , and Ralphie Pupa did a great job!

The Parise Racing team now heads to Maple Grove Raceway for the Super Chevy Show and the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Race. Qualifying will begin at 6pm on Friday July 16th, and resume again on Saturday at 1pm.

The Parise Racing LIVE FEED from their pit area will begin on Friday morning at @ 9 am, and run through the weekend. To view the LIVE FEED, visit: http://www.pariseracing.com/ or to view with live chat visit: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/parise-racing .

Parise Racing can’t take the heat at Atco…….

It was an unlikely scenario that unfolded for Parise Racing. Two cars there to race and both do not make it into the show.

It was a very hot day at Atco Raceway for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association Race. There was a great turnout of cars as well as spectators.

“The cars have been running very well up to this point.” Stated Andrew Parise . “My ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette ran a 6.07 at 236 mph in testing on Friday. But, you never know what will happen on race day. As we all know, anything can happen. And, it did, or didn’t so to speak.”

Unfortunately there was a glitch with the tree during Andrew’s first qualifying run against Tim O’Hare. Andrew was able to sort it out at the tree, but shook the tires. Andrew’s second qualifier was not much better. Again, he shook.

Dina Parise and her ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette seemed to meet the same fate. “We tested o Friday, and she went down Broadway. Race day came and she shut me down.” Stated Dina Parise. “I just could not wrangle my car in this weekend. She shook during both qualifiers, and that was it. Game over.”

“Regardless of the outcome, the crew members did a great job.” Stated Dina. “We had great people helping us as usual this week. Charlie Saccoccio, James Montana, Nick Montana (Montana Pro Chassis Design),Rod, Fazekas , Rocco Micciolo , and Dave Jordan (Crew chief).Everyone pitched in.”

There was a bright side to the day, though. Parise Racing ran their Vettes for Vets program. In attendance were Vietnam Vererans from two groups; Vietnam Vets USA and NAM Knights America. The team was proud to have them as their guests.

Parise Racing would like to thank Kevin Sway and Atco Raceway for their cooperation in running the Vettes for Vets program. Atco supplied the tickets, parking and lunch for the Veterans.

The Parise’s would also like to thank Jim Barker for stopping by. He came by to drop off some t-shirts for the Veterans and to just shake their hands and say ‘thank you’.

“Jim is no stranger to what we do.” Stated Andrew. “He has made monetary donations in the past, and he made sure to stop by this weekend. We appreciate him taking the time out, and we know the Veterans appreciated it as well. We also want to congratulate him on his win!”

Next stop for the Parise Racing team will be Lebanon Valley Dragway, for the NHRA Lucas Oil Division 1 race. Don’t forget to tune in to the LIVE FEED! Visit; http://www.pariseracing.com/ or http://www.ustream.tv/channel/parise-racing to chat live!

As many of you know, Dina Parise not only drives that ’63 Corvette, but she also cooks for the team as well. She tends to cook so much that is why they call her ‘the Chef’. Well, she is getting a break from her cooking duties for a bit, thanks to Mannino’s Restaurant in Oakdale,NY. The team would like to thank them for providing the weekend’s meals (Dina especially!).

First Time Not a Charm for Parise Racing at NHRA Get Screened America Series Event

For the Parise Racing team this season has been full of ups and downs from early on. Last weekend proved to be a bit of both.

It was the first outing at the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge, for the Parise Racing team. Unfortunately, there was only one spot open, for the two car husband and wife team. Dina Parise became the first Parise to run the Pro Mod Challenge at the NHRA SuperNationals in EnglishTown, NJ.

“This was an exciting weekend for all of us.” Stated Dina Parise. “I just wish my ’63 Corvette would have cooperated a bit more. I am disappointed for my team. Everyone worked so hard. A big thanks to my husband Andrew, my Crew Chief Dave Jordan and James Montana.”

During first qualifying shot on Friday, Dina had tire shake. In the second qualifying round, she ran a 6.605 @ 211.53 mph. Obviously , that was not a stellar number, and way slower than that car is capable of running. “ I am a crew member this weekend.” Stated Andrew Parise with a smile. “We headed back to the pit , and took a look at the car and realized the problem. Nothing too major. That is the good thing. The bad thing is, our weekend is over.”

The weekend did end on a high note. Dina’s ’63 Corvette did win best appearing car, so she did come home with a Wally.

Dina and Andrew would like to extend a special thank you to Frank Manzo and his crew for their help this past weekend.

The team’s next stop will be Atco Raceway for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. race on Saturday June 26th. As always Parise Racing will have a LIVE FEED from their pit area. Parise Racing to Debut in the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge at the SuperNationals

Work hard and you will achieve you goals. One of Parise Racing’s goals has been to compete in the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge from the time they began R&D back in 2009. They can check that one off the list, well one list.

Being a two car team sometimes leads to many tough decisions, and this was one of the toughest ones to date. With one spot open, who goes? “Ladies first?” ,Said Andrew Parise with a laugh. “Both cars are running really well, both drivers are ready for battle, so either way Parise Racing will make a good first impression. We have worked hard to get here, and it is finally paying off. I was hoping to get to run my ’53 Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Design Corvette as well, but one is better than none .We are excited to be going at all.”

Running a two car team with limited funding is a daunting task, and more work that imaginable, but the Parise’s would not have it any other way. “We are very thankful for the sponsors we currently have.” Stated Dina Parise. “Consultedge and NGK have been great to us. We are still struggling to make it, though. We are looking forward to going to the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge; it’s a great opportunity for us and our sponsors. I feel like Charlie from Willie Wonka, I just found the Golden ticket.”

As a former skater for the ‘Ice Capades’ , Dina says that traveling and racing can be compared to her former ‘showgirl’ days, if one can believe that. “When I toured with the ‘Ice Capades’ we did a show in a different city every week. Each week we played a new venue, each venue had its own ‘locals ‘that worked there, our cast and crew remained the same and we all traveled together. It’s the same thing here, only with tires in place of skates and fire suites in place of sequin covered costumes. I guess I can just think of my ’63 Corvette as a really fast Zamboni!” She laughs.

The Parise’s know they are up against a tough field. They have confidence in the crew; James Montana and Nick Montana of Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Design, Jody Lupton, Charlie Saccoccio and especially Crew Chief Dave Jordan. “Dave is an asset to our team,” Stated Andrew. “He tunes both cars and manages the numbers as well as everything else very well. Sometimes he even has to become a Dr. Phil of sorts, but I will save that for another day .He is a patient man .” He laughs.

The Parise team has been very busy leading up to now. In the past two weeks, they ran the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Maple Grove in the Competition Eliminator class to earn GSA points. Then it was off to Virginia Motorsports Park to run exhibition for Pinks All Out and host members of the Military for their ‘Vettes for Vets’ program.

When Dina Parise was concerned that the handicapped accessible suite at Virginia Motorsports Park was occupied by the TV executives, she made a call, never expecting what would follow. A quick call to Disruptive Studios (Pullin TV) drew quick action. After speaking to Stephen Pullin and Kristi Knight of Disruptive Studios and Pullin TV she was pleasantly surprised. “They (Disruptive Studios, Pullin TV and Speed TV) were more than happy to support our program.” Stated Dina “They bent over backwards to do it, too. They gave up the suite, so we would have wheelchair access for those who needed it .So between them and Virginia Motorsports Park, our guests were all set.”

“Our ‘Vettes for Vets ‘ program was a huge success!’ , Stated Dina. “We could not have done it alone. We want to extend a big thank you to Virginia Motorsports Park(Bryan Pierce and Marc Wesler), Stephen Pullin (Pullin TV), Kristi Knight (Pullin TV), Speed TV (Merchandising),Virginia Giant, Kalbones Racing , the Clarkesville Economic Development Association ,Clarksville Chamber of Commerce ,Mitch Saccoccio, Tom Loftus and Brother’s Pizza. Everyone we asked to help did. We are getting the word out about our program, and the Wounded Warrior Project. Our Veterans and Active Duty Military members deserve our respect and our thanks, and we are going to give it to them, and thanks to help of others, we can. The Military members had a great day and that is our goal, pure and simple, no strings attached.”

Parise Racing Makes them Stand Up and Take Notice…

Parise Racing attended its first ADRL race in Virginia Motorsports Park May 21st-22nd.

“Kenny Knowling and and the ADRL staff never made us feel as if we were on the outside.” Stated Andrew Parise. “Our cars are NHRA legal and we knew it would be very difficult to compete with the magnitude of cars at the ADRL. Knowing this going in, we just prepared to compete as we always do.”

As the luck of the draw would have it for qualifying, wouldn’t you guess Dina and Andrew were picked to run each other first pair out. “I was extremely happy for this; it is time to show the wife (and the crowd) who is faster,” stated Andrew. “It is always fun running Dina. At times I think people listen to us and think we are putting on a show by the way we talk to each other when we have to race one another. Trust me, it is no show. Just ask our Crew chief Dave Jordan.”

“He got me. We were the first husband and wife team to compete in Pro Extreme, and he got me,” Stated Dina Parise. “Certainly not the way I wanted to come into this race, but my ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette was just a bit off. After the fact, we did find some issues with the car. We have got them fixed and I am ready to take him on again.”

Although Dina was not running at full capacity, Andrew was. And was he ever. In third round qualifying he ran a 3.933 @ 188.17 MPH, in his ’53 Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Design Corvette. “I am so pleased with that run, I cannot tell you!” Stated Andrew. “Coming in here with a ‘legal’ set-up and being one spot off of qualifying, was a good deal for me. My team did a great job and I am proud of what we accomplished here.”

On the way home, the team made a stop at the Fort Lee Army Base PX to show their military themed cars. “It’s part of who we are.” Stated Dina “ We created these paint schemes for our Military members past and present. It’s great to get to bring the cars to the base and get to talk to them for a bit. We appreciate what they do.”

The Parise are running a very full schedule this season. The next stop for them is the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Maple Grove Raceway to earn GSA points. After that, they will be back at VMP for some exhibition runs in Pinks All Out. They will also be running their ‘Vettes for Vets’ program for the Pinks all Out show with the assistance of VMP and Pullen TV.

Lastly, this weekend is Memorial Day. Most people associate Memorial Day with department store sales, BBQ’s and outdoor fun. Before you head out for your Memorial Day plans, please take a moment to think and maybe even act on what the day is about.

Here are a few suggestions:

• Fly your flag

• Observe a moment of silence in remembrance of those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

• Place flags and/or flowers at Veteran’s gravesites.

• Attend a Memorial Day service. Check with your local area for information.

• Thank a Veteran. Check with your local VFW, American Legion, etc. Just a Thank You will go a long way.

The Parise’s would like to thank their crew ; Crew Chief Dave Jordan, Charlie Saccoccio, James Montana (Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Design) and Jody Lupton.

Parise Racing out first round in NEOPMA

For Andrew and Dina Parise and the Parise Racing team, this weekend at the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. race did not turn out as well as they had expected, on the track but off the track was another story.

“The cars are running very well. “ Stated Andrew Parise . “Dave Jordan, our Crew Chief is doing a great job on both cars. We are qualifying well, and are making good, solid passes. We had a few glitches this weekend that caused us to go out early in the game. My ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette had problems, and I did not make it out for first round. It’sO.K. We will be back at it for Atco. ”

Andrew qualified with a 6.098 @ 236.34 MPH and Dina qualified with a 6.190 @ 229.94. 2nd and 5th respectively. When it came time for first round, Andrew did not make the call. Regardless, the crew continued to work hard. “We could not do what we do without the help of Dave Jordan our Crew Chief, and crew member Charlie Saccoccio. Also on hand was Nick Montana (Montana Bros. Pro Chassis Dasign), James Montana and Dean Mauro. We appreciate their hard work!.” Stated Andrew Parise.

“ My ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette was running well all day.” Stated Dina Parise. “I went up for first round, and BAM! She smokes the tires and has wicked tire shake! I’m out! From hero to zero in a split second. One minute they congratulate you on the last race win, the next minute they console you. That’s drag racing! No worries, I’m ready for next week!”

Maybe things on the track were not going well, but up in the suites at Maryland International Raceway, there was much to cheer about.

Through Parise Racing’s Vettes for Vets program, there were many Military members in attendance as VIP’s for the NEOPMA race. The members ranged from active duty, retired Veterans, to Wounded Warriors.

The VIP’s were treated to a great day of racing as well as good food and a bird’s eye view of all of the action. All this followed by a well deserved introduction to the crowd, made by Johnny Rocca. Not to mention Johnny’s donation to the Wounded Warrior Project!

Parise Racing would like to thank MIR for accommodating the Military members so well. Thank you especially to Royce Miller, Bryan Starner, Johnny Rocca and Fabian for making the day so special for the ‘Vettes for Vets’ VIP’s, and for supporting the program itself.

Parise Racing would also like to thank Rustic River Bar and Grill for providing a wonderful lunch for the VIP’s.

Lastly, a special thank you to ;Pete Berner and John Montecalvo, of the MMPSA for taking the time out to meet with the VIP’s. Not only did they meet with the VIP’s, they gave them some great items to take home. Your generosity and caring was certainly appreciated.

Parise Racing’s next stop will be ADRL at Virginia Motorsports Park May 21-22.

Parise Racing Looking for Another Win at Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods

With this season off to a great start, Dina is looking to have a repeat weekend at the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. race at Maryland International Raceway on May 15th. “MIR has been a tough track for me, my car and our crew,” stated Dina Parise. “MIR is a great facility and Royce Miller and his staff do an amazing job, but last season, somehow my ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette always got bitten .Time to bite back! As of now, my husband and I have one (NEOPMA) win each, but I want that second trophy first. It’s a tough field, so we will see.”

After last weekend at VMP, the team really could have used some R&R but that is not going to happen for a while. “We have restocked the trailer, done a ton of cleanup and a lot of maintenance is being done so we can make this next event,” stated Andrew Parise. “Both cars needed rear gears. My car is at Montana Brothers Pro Chassis Design for some upgrades. It was a tough race, I qualified number one and I really wanted that win. As most folks may know, my wife and I are very competitive. We are a team all the way, but trust me, when it comes to the win light, the ‘ we’ goes away, real fast! My 53’ Montana Bros. Corvette is a competitive car and I need to get this car in the winner’s circle again. We won here last year and I want to take that trophy home, if I don’t win I will never get that monkey (Tim O’hare ) off my back!”(He laughs)

May 15th is not just any ordinary race day. May 15th is Armed Forces day. It is a day that we as citizens should come together and thank our Military members for their patriotic service in support of our country. Through Parise Racing’s Vettes for Vets Program (in association with the Wounded Warrior Project) , our Nation’s Military personnel, (active duty, retired Veterans etc) will be joining in on the racing action at MIR! Vettes for Vets is a program the Parise’s have created, and bring to life at every event they attend. “We want to thank Royce Miller and Brian Starner of MIR for assisting us with putting together our Vettes for Vets program at their facility,” Stated Dina.” Without that help, we have no program.”

Parise Racing will once again have a LIVE FEED from their pit area. To tune in and chat live visit : http://www.ustream.tv/channel/parise-racing or visit : http://www.pariseracing.com/ . The FEED will go live at 9 am on Saturday May 15th.

A WEEKEND OF FIRST’S FOR PARISE RACING’S DINA PARISE

“It was a busy week and a week of firsts, for me in particular.” Stated Dina Parise. “I tested at Virginia Motorsports Park for two days .I started on Wednesday, just getting reacquainted with the car, and getting comfortable. Since this was the first time back in the car since my hand surgery, I was just a bit apprehensive because we still had a few issues to iron out. To boot, I stepped into the car sooner than the doctor advised. I just could not wait any longer.”

Nick and James Montana of Montana Bros Pro Chassis were on hand with Dina for the two day test to make sure the ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette went straight down the race track. “After a few changes it was straight as an arrow.” Stated Dina.

Thursday, Dina made the progress she was hoping for, and ran numbers that she, Andrew and her Crew Chief Dave Jordan felt happy with. She ran a 6.10, 6.12 and a 6.09 @ 235 MPH to end the day. “It felt great to be back in the seat and make the progress we did in two days. It all came together well.” Stated Dina.

On Friday night the weekend was kicked off with a match race featuring Harold Martin and Dina Parise. Dina was chosen as Harold’s opponent via on line votes on the Virginia Motorsports Park website. “ I have quite a bit of respect for Harold. This was a fun race for the crowd. I had trouble at the light, but still went a 4.02 181mph to his 4.24 171mph with Harold taking the win.”

“During this few days of testing we broke a lot of parts. We used enough inventory for a year!” Stated Dave Jordan “ It was a busy couple days but we had a plan , and accomplished what we set out to do.”

Although Andrew Parise had a hurt set of gears and a converter issue in his ’53 Montana Bros Corvette , he managed to qualify #1 with a 6.17. Dina qualified number five with a 6.24, and missed the second qualifying round with some mechanical issues of her own. “They certainly were not the numbers we were looking for, but we made the field.” Stated Andrew Parise.” We knew we had mechanical issues with both cars and was just hoping to be lucky enough for nothing to break to the point that we could not repair it.”

Andrew’s luck ran out in first round when the rear gears broke apart and Derrick Townes took the win. I know we had a great race car and wanted to win this race, but it just wasn’t my day.” Stated Andrew.

Dina was fighting issues as well, but with the Wounded Warriors on site for the ‘Vettes for Vets’ program, it seemed that good karma was what was keeping the parts hanging on. In the semi’s Dina defeated Derrick Townes with a 6.24 over his 6.61. Steve King, had a great run in the semi’s with a 6.14. It was to be Steve King and Dina in the finals. Unfortunately, Steve had major engine failure on his last run that kept him from making to the finals.

Parise Racing owes a big thank you to Steve and Jeff , because the only reason Andrew was able to race as long as he did, was due to them taking the time out to fix the gears in his car. The team would also like to thank FiFi Montrond for the gears for Dina’s car.

“I have to say, I am so thrilled to get my first win, and especially at VMP! This facility and the people that run it mean so much to us. Not to discount any others, but we have been told we are their Yankee family. It was a great way to get my first win.” Stated Dina. “This win is not mine alone. My husband Andrew, Dave Jordan, Nick Montana, James Montana, Charlie Saccoccio , Bill Barrett and all the guys who helped in the pit area. I cannot thank you all enough for your efforts this past weekend. It was grueling, and worth it.”

After all of the parts, and the sweat, Dina went on to win her first Pro Mod race; which brings us to the First’s. May first, First Race of the Year, First in Points, First race after surgery, and the best of all First woman member and winner in Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. At home, Dina was also honored on May 3rd as one of Long Island’s most influential women.

This was the inaugural weekend of Parise Racing’s ‘Vettes for Vets ‘program. The Wounded Warrior’s and their guests that attended the race were treated to VIP status for the day, and lunch was provided by Brother’s Pizza of Petersburg, Va. Parise Racing looks forward to hosting Veterans at upcoming races.

PARISE RACING HEADED TO NORTHEAST OUTLAW PRO MODS

After a disappointing weekend at the Super Chevy Show, Andrew Parise is more focused than ever for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. race, May 1st at Virginia Motorsports Park. “We are ready.” Stated Andrew Parise . “It’s a new week, and we have put what we did not like behind us. We are ready to put some numbers on the board, like we know we can.”

Dina Parise did not participate in the Super Chevy event.“This is going to be my return to drag racing since my hand surgery and I am ready to get it done.” stated Dina Parise. “The recovery process has been long, so I am just ready to go!” said Dina. “I have been going to therapy three times a week, doing exercises at home and just working on getting my hand to work again and it has been extremely hard. But, being an athlete all my life, I have been injured before and this is not fazing me.”

Dina’s ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette and Andrew’s ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette are both running well. With Crew Chief Dave Jordan at the helm, the Parise’s are confident they will be going rounds this season.

Along with the celebration of Dina going back into the car ,the Parise’s are celebrating the official 2010 launch of both raising donations for the Wounded Warrior Project and their own “ Vettes for Vets” program at VMP. As part of the program (that will take place at each event Parise Racing attends), Parise Racing will ‘host’ Veterans, Wounded Warriors and currently serving Military Personnel as VIP’s for the day. Because the team cannot accomplish this on their own, here are the outstanding businesses willing to pitch in. VMP will be providing a suite, tickets, parking and special recognition for the guests. Lunch will be provided by Brother’s Pizza of Petersburg.

“We want everyone to realize that our Nation’s Military have put their life on the line so we can enjoy our freedom,” stated Dina.” For us to give them a day out and show them appreciation is nothing compared to them laying their lives on the line for us. We ask everyone that attends, if you see our guests, please stop them and say thank you. When you hear the National Anthem, kindly remove your hats; stand tall, proud and silent. Always.”

Do you know a Veteran or Wounded Warrior that you think would enjoy participating in the ‘Vettes for Vets’ program? Please visit : http://www.pariseracing.com/events.php for the events schedule , to find an event in your area. To submit a Veteran or Wounded Warrior to the program, or for more information please email Dina Parise : info@pariseracing.com .

Parise Racing Super Chevy Show Update

Virginia Motorsports Park is familiar territory for the Parise Racing team. Super Chevy has significant meaning to the team. So it seemed fitting that the team would be in attendance for the Super Chevy Show held last weekend at VMP.

“The Super Chevy Show holds a close place in our hearts.” states Andrew Parise. “Super Chevy is where I decided to race again, where Dina decided she wanted to begin racing and where the Parise Racing team began. We have met so many people over the years at Super Chevy events that they have become part of our family. We watched drivers such as Dave Tomasino, Bruce Boland and many others race in the Nitro Class, as we were competing in the bracket class. Now it has come full circle for us.”

The weekend was a bit disappointing for the team as far as numbers on the board. “We tried some new combinations and the car just didn’t like them,” stated Andrew.” It was a tough weekend for us, we know my ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette can run good 1/8th mile numbers, but we just couldn’t get the combo correct this weekend. The car ran a best of 4.06 in the 1/8th and a 6.09 in the quarter. For a converter car those numbers are nothing to sneeze at, but they weren’t the numbers we were expecting or wanting. Our Crew Chief, Dave Jordan did a great job over the weekend with what we had to work with. Running converter cars is a challenge and Dave is up to that challenge. We looked over the data, and we are ready for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association race May 1st.” /p>

Dina Parise got in her ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette for the first time since having hand surgery in January. She did not get in the car to race, just to get ‘acquainted again’. “The doctors told me just to take it easy. Something I do not do well with. The team tried to make me a spectator for the weekend, but considering watching is what got me into the Pro Mod in the first place, I’m not sure that was a great idea either. Leave me watching too long, who knows what I will do next! ,” said Dina Parise, jokingly. “I did WANT to get out there and make a full run but knew I had to take it easy. I did one burnout, and took it easy. Then, did the second burnout, and I was just going to go for it, but knew I would be in trouble from everyone. I have two weeks to get ready for the May1st NEOPMA at VMP, so back to the occupational therapist I go, for now.”

The new Super Chevy was just amazing. The fans were great, the weather was the best you can ask for and the track was perfect. We had a great time at the event; but we did have a mishap on Saturday evening. Crew member and Andrew’s brother in-law Charlie Saccoccio was putting away the pro jacks; the jack caught his finger and cut it wide open. The EMT at VMP patched Charlie up temporarily, and then on to hospital for seven hours with Dina. “Nothing like a grilled cheese at 3:30 am,” stated Dina “He’s patched up, but now I had to worry that Sunday we only had two good hands between the two of us! “

It is always exciting and fun to be with the crew at VMP, it makes the trip that much better. They were a big help to the team on Sunday, when Charlie was unable to crew due to his injury. During downtime, the food and beverages were abundant along with the laughs. “The crew in VMP is our extended family,” stated Dina. “We wish we could move the track to Long Island. It would certainly save us a ton of fuel costs! “

Parise Racing would like to thank Doug Winters and his wife Erin for extending Andrew invitation to compete in this event. The Winters are great people and we wish them the best. Another big thanks goes to Ken Walsh for lending a hand and being a tool rental shop at a great price!

Jim Campasio and Patrick Hill of Super Chevy Magazine provided Andrew with Editor Choice Drag Race award. Andrew was honored to accept the award from Jim, Patrick and Super Chevy Magazine. Jim has a bit of a history with the Parise Racing team. The 1967 Camaro both Dina and Andrew bracket raced went on fire in the pits in Bradenton, and Jim was there to record it (from the top of the Parise motor home to be exact)! “Bad press is better than no press,” Jim said. The following issue, there it was, a half page spread of the Camaro BBQ! What a sight! To this day, the Parise’s still get asked about that photo! Jim is precisely right.

Super Chevy as well as all races Parise Racing attends was broadcast with a LIVE FEED from the pit area. At each event, Parise Racing will be actively involved with America’s Veterans through their ‘Vettes for Vets’ program. As proud supporters of the Wounded Warrior Project, the Parise’s will be raising donations at each event for WWP, as well as hosting Veterans for the day. If you see a Veteran at the track, please remember to thank them. Fortune 52: Dina Parise
Co-Owner/Driver, Parise Racing
By Beverly Fortune

The co-owner of Parise Racing based in Oakdale is a professional drag racer who drives a 1963 Corvette Pro Mod that can go 240 MPH and reach a quarter mile in 6 seconds and was licensed and trained by the Frank Hawley Racing School in Florida. The Hawley website says the only comparable sensation to drag racing would be taking off in the Space Shuttle or being catapulted from the deck of an aircraft carrier. While the speed at which these cars travel is amazing enough, what may surprise you is the driver of this car is a 5 foot tall former skater in the Ice Capades from Bellmore named Dina.

Dina’s husband, Andrew, who grew up in Massapequa, was into cars all his life and began racing in 2000. After watching Andrew drag race for the first time, Dina saw the speed that he achieved so quickly and her fate was sealed.

She recalls how she felt watching Andrew’s first race. “I said, ‘What’s better than that?’ I knew from that second on that I was going to race.”

Together they formed Parise Racing and joined the competitive world of drag racing, competing about two to three times a month from the spring through the fall. Dina explains you can either get your dragster [open cockpit] or door car license in two days. Dina drives a door car. She prefers to race the Super Gas class where you can reach a quarter mile in less than 10 seconds, with two people in the race. Even though there are no drag racing tracks on Long Island, Dina is committed to the area, and raising awareness not only for the sport but for various fundraising efforts.

The Parises are now full-fledged members of the professional drag racing circuit. “The first year we had a lot of mechanical problems, but that made me a better driver,” says Dina. “I think [this year] we will be a force to be reckoned with.” Dina is very gracious when asked about the obvious comparison between her and nationally known Indy racecar driver Danica Patrick. “I only go in straight lines, no curves!” she says.

Dina and Andrew formed the Parise Racing Pro Modified Drag Racing Team to have a positive impact on the motorsport industry. Unfortunately, they have to travel off-island to compete, with Englishtown, NJ as the closest track. “There are no drag racing facilities left on Long Island, and that is a shame,” Dina explains. “In the past Long Island was very rich with motorsports and it no longer is. The last track was in the Hamptons.”

More than just a professional hurdle, Dina sees another downside to not having a local track. “The backlash from that is I see a lot of young people being hurt or killed because they are choosing to race on the street. Other places give out helmets, fire jackets and other safety equipment and they allow racing to get it out of their system,” she explains. “I’m not going to say it’s not going to make them race at all, but it does change the proportion of kids who do get killed. And, I don’t want to be the other person on the road when these kids are racing.” Dina says she doesn’t speed when she’s driving around town, and the Volkswagen Bug that is parked on her driveway is almost contradictory to the muscle cars that are housed in her garage.

There is also some friendly competition between Andrew and Dina who are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on April 1st. “It’s very hard to watch your partner in a car that goes that fast, but once the helmet goes on, all bets are off,” Dina says. “I shut everything out. It’s you and her [The Beast]. You can’t take anything for granted. It’s like getting shot out of a cannon. Your parachute opens and you feel the G’s as you slow down. It’s instant gratification.”

A big part of Parise Racing’s mission is the donations they collect for charity during their travels. “Our friend was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004 and we help raise awareness, hand out literature and collect donations for MS at every track we go to,” Dina says.

Andrew is a Navy veteran and the Parises also support Vettes for Vets, as part of the non-profit Wounded Warriors. “This country has a short attention span,” Dina says. “We forget that we have these soldiers coming back who are no longer serving and they help them in their rehabilitation and reincorporate them back into society. We bring veterans to the track and we host them for the day. These causes are most important to us. We like to give back to the community.” Even Bella, their adorable pug dog, helps the Parises raise money for charity. Bella is outfitted with a stroller that has wheelie bars and an umbrella/parachute just like the bar on Dina’s car. “It works really well,” she laughs.

Both Dina and Andrew also have full time jobs, Dina is a hairdresser and Andrew is the director of Enterprise Communications for Henry Schein.

“I would love to make racing a full-time job. A lot of it comes down to sponsors and backing,” Dina says. “I would love to go to businesses on Long Island and say, ‘We would love to have your name on our car.’ I’ve been trying to contact a lot of women’s companies also. I don’t think people realize how many women watch racing. The market is here, it just needs to be tapped into.”

PARISE RACING IS GETTING THE 2010 SEASON STARTED!

In the Northeast, this winter proved to be one of the longest and toughest ever. With the trailer being buried under feet of snow, racing season seemed a distant memory as well just a dream. But finally, the snow has melted, the temperature is rising and the season is starting. Well, sort of.

“As all of us say, we need more time in the day to complete our projects,” stated Andrew Parise. “We have been real busy putting the race cars back together, revamping our trailer and everything else. It is amazing when you say to yourself; I have time to get to that, and the next thing you know, you are scrambling to get it done. Our goal was to have both cars race ready for Valdosta test session; even though we knew Dina will not be driving the car due to her (longer than expected) recovery from hand surgery. This has been a trying time for my wife and I have to say she is as tough as they come. As many of you know we call her “The Chef”, but for the last couple of months we have changed that to ‘WWE…’ “Where we eatin’?”.

“Being a driver and sitting on the side is extremely hard to do, but we are a team and that is what I had to do, but frankly, I do not do well as a spectator,” states Dina Parise. “The ‘damage’ was more severe than we expected and recovery is taking longer then I want it to. I will be out in April to test, and for the Super Chevy Show in Virginia Motorsports Park for some shake down passes. You may even see the first 2010 ‘Heads up’ Parise vs. Parise race at VMP. Let the betting begin!”

Parise Racing made quite a bit of progress in 2009 and Andrew has gotten off to a great start in 2010.The team went to Valdosta and Andrew put some great numbers on the board. Andrew ran a 6.086 @ 236.17 MPH. “I am happy with those numbers for our first day out,” stated Andrew. “Those are really good numbers for a converter car. I know we can improve on that.” Although it was not all as easy as it sounds, in the end the team found the answers they needed. Parise Racing has a great team supporting them to achieve their goals. Their crew chief Dave Jordan did a great job with the help of Jody Lupton and Bob Sweatland. The team also wanted to mention Nick Montana, Chris Montana and James Montana (Montana Pro Chassis Design). With a special thanks to Bill Barrett. All mentioned were a great help in Valdosta and it was greatly appreciated!

Valdosta is also where the team introduced a new ‘race day’ feature! A live feed featuring the Parise Racing pit area. You can view the live feed on the www.PariseRacing.com home page any time the team is at the track. Want to know when the feed goes live? Join Parise Racing on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/PariseRacing , and on Twitter http://twitter.com/PariseRacing for the latest updates.

The 2010 schedule is going to be a busy one. For one the team has committed to the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association races. In addition the team will be attending Pinks All Out, Super Chevy and NHRA Unleashed (in association with NEOPMA). Also on the schedule is the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, for the team to earn points toward running the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge.

PARISE RACING and WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT Team Up in 2010

For Parise Racing it is not just about the numbers on the board and the incredible paint schemes. For Andrew and Dina Parise, it’s also about honoring our Nation’s Veterans and currently serving Military personnel.

“We feel as if we have created a well rounded program to honor our Veterans,” Stated Dina Parise. “We began with the paint schemes on the cars (that translated to the crew shirts). I am excited to announce that we will now be working with the Wounded Warrior Project. Along with raising donations, we will be running some other great programs for our Veterans throughout the season. We have a vision to create an environment where the Veterans can enjoy a great day at the races, and the public can let them know how much they appreciate their service to our country. It’s what they deserve.”

“We got the ball rolling last year,” stated Andrew Parise. “Working along with Wounded Warrior Project, I believe we will fully achieve our vision. All donations we receive will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project, and will support a full range of programs and services for severely injured service members and their families. Not only are we looking forward to a fantastic season of racing, we are also looking forward to the opportunity to thank our Nation’s Veterans!”

Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Thousands of troops have been wounded in recent conflicts, many of them suffering traumatic brain injuries, amputations and severe burns which may retire them from service.

WWP serves to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

“On behalf of the thousands of severely injured service members we aim to assist, we want to thank Parise Racing for its dedication to our nation’s heroes. Its commitment is helping ensure the tremendous personal sacrifices service men and women have made for our country are not forgotten,” said Wounded Warrior Project CEO Steve Nardizzi.

For more information, please visit the Parise Racing website: www.pariseracing.com. Click on the ‘our causes’ tab. After you have read all about the great things WWP has done and will be doing for our wounded heroes, feel free to click on the ‘Donate Now’ button, and make a donation! It’s quick, it’s easy and you can do it right from http://www.pariseracing.com/causes.php ! Your donation is greatly appreciated!

Parise Racing 2009 Recap; Look at 2010

“For 2009, the plan was R&D until we felt that we (as drivers), the cars and the team were able to perform in competition.”, stated Dina Parise. “We stayed with this plan throughout the year, and our effort paid off. Although there is always more work to do, all in all it was a great year for us. There were issues with my Blown 63’ Tim McAmis Corvette powered by ERD, Carl Spiering, but we finally got them ironed out. I am really looking forward to the 2010 season.”

At his second NorthEast Outlaw Pro Mod Association race at MIR, Andrew Parise won the event with his 53’ Blown Montana Bros. Corvette powered by ERD, Carl Spiering. “We worked very hard all year on our setups. It proved that our plan we put together worked, and the team works together as well.” , stated Andrew Parise. “Just like any new team, we struggled in the beginning but then realized what works and what doesn’t. “

“Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our progress in 2009. We had a lot of goals to achieve and we have done what we set out to do.”, stated Andrew. “To watch Dina go down the track at 6.19, then a 6.14 is just wild. A year ago she was bracket racing (at 9.00) and now she is driving a Pro Mod, it is just awesome!” stated Andrew.

Both cars are having the paint schemes updated by Barney Squires at Performance Auto Crafters. Once the cars are back from paint, it is all hands on deck to get them back together and ready for some early testing in 2010. We are working on some changes for 2010 that are going to work out extremely well. So, keep watching for the updates.

The Parise Racing team has satisfied their expectations for 2009. With two new cars and two new drivers, they had more challenges than the average team. They stayed focused, they worked hard and it paid off.

With 2009 now a distant memory, it is time to focus attention to 2010. Looking toward the 2010 season the Parise Racing team is eager to get going. “We finished the 2009 season on a high note and we are ready to get back out there”, stated Andrew. “2010 will be a good season.”

Parise Racing would like to say a special Thanks to:

Thank you for a great 2009 season, we look forward to 2010!

HELP PARISE RACING SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER TO WOUNDED SOLDIERS!

It is that time of year once again. The holidays are upon us. Most of us associate the holidays with family and friends gathering at one another’s homes for food, drinks and gift exchanging. We at Parise Racing would like to remind everyone about our nation’s wounded Military personnel who are not fortunate enough to be home for the holidays.

It has been Parise Racing’s mission, in part with The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, to raise awareness for our nation’s Military, past and present through our ‘Vettes for Vets’ program. From raising donations, to having veterans spend a day at the track, the ‘Vettes for Vets’ program has many facets.

With the holiday season approaching, Parise Racing is asking for everyone to remember our nation’s wounded Military personnel, and get involved to make this holiday a brighter one.

Perhaps this year, rather than participating in your office ‘grab bag’ , you would choose to send a small gift to a member of our nation’s Military , who was wounded in the line of duty and is spending the Holidays in Brooke Army Medical Center.

There are many options of things to send. Feel free to send just a card. If you would like to do more, here is a list of a few things that would be useful and greatly appreciated:

Toiletries, Gift Cards to: Wal-Mart, Burger King, Applebee’s and Olive Garden.

Please be assured that we at Parise Racing have had one on one contact with the Gift Coordinator and she has assured us that all cards and gifts will be handled appropriately.

Please send any card or gift to:

Brooke Army Medical Center
Attn: Gift Coordinator (Parise Racing)
3851 Roger Brooke Drive
San Antonio, TX 78234

On behalf of our wounded Military personnel, Parise Racing would like to thank you in advance for your generosity.

Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and a prosperous 2010!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE PARISE RACING FAMILY TO YOURS!

As we gather around our tables for our Thanksgiving meals, surrounded by family and friends, it is for certain we will share with each other what we are all thankful for. Usually, being thankful for being together is a starter for any Thanksgiving meal. On this Thanksgiving, please remember our nation’s military personnel, for they are not fortunate enough to spend this holiday with their families. So, Thanksgiving is not only about giving thanks, but remembering as well.

Whether we agree with war or not, we all need to appreciate what we have, and to give thanks to our service members for the sacrifice they make every day. We should be thankful for our veterans who have served, some who never made it home at all.

Thank you, for leaving your families behind and going to a foreign land, whether you wanted to leave or not. Thank you for risking your life, for our freedom, our rights and our safety. Because of all of the service men and woman (past and present) we are able to celebrate Thanksgiving without fear.

Thanksgiving is also about REMEMBERING. Remembering all we have, Remembering our loved ones, Remembering what each of these individuals have provided us with and Remembering what our service men and woman do for us each day, and have done for us in the past..

We at Parise Racing wish EVERYONE a "Happy Thanksgiving".

And to our Nations Military where ever you may be as you read this:
Though it is not the same as being with the ones you love or eating a home cooked meal, please know that you are NOT Forgotten!! We salute each and every one of you for serving our nation, and we THANK YOU! Stay safe……….

Dina and Andrew Parise

REMEMBER THE MEANING OF VETERANS DAY

Though Veterans Day falls on November 11 every year, it seems to have lost meaning along the way. Veterans Day is to honor Veterans. Have we as Americans become so desensitized to everything that we have forgotten those who have endured the horrors of war to fight for our freedom? It seems we have.

Please do not think of Veterans Day as just another ‘day off’. Take this day to remember the fallen as well as those who are still serving this country. They deserve our time and respect, considering what they have given to us.

Consider these activities on Veterans Day:

Take your children to a Veterans facility in your area. Let them speak to a Veteran in person. What better history lesson, then from someone who was there.

Observe a moment of silence in their honor.

Be sure to fly your flag. If you do not have one, get one.

We as a country can in no way repay our Veterans, but as citizens it is OUR duty to recognize their bravery and sacrifice that has made this country what it is today. We are all free to do as we wish due to our Veterans and currently serving Military’s service and sacrifice.

So please always remember: ~FREEDOM IS NOT FREE~

On November 11th (and everyday) ~ THANK A VETERAN~

Parise Racing at IHRA World Finals

Andrew and Dina Parise , the husband and wife Pro Modified team drivers, hit the IHRA world Finals at the Rock this past weekend. Though this season has not been a lengthy one as far as competition for the team, the Parise’s feel they have made quite a bit of progress in that time, regardless of the outcome.

It seemed for everyone the weather was the fiercest competitor this weekend. Friday allowed for only one qualifying shot. Dina Parise ran a 6.466/ 225.45 mph to qualify in the 5th spot. Andrew Parise ran a 6.387/ 226.20 mph to qualify in the 4th spot. The rain and the cold prevailed from that point on.

IHRA officials made the decision on Sunday to run 1/8 mile rather than 1/4 mile due to track conditions. The weather had taken its toll on the track, and safety had become an issue. So, the team hit the staging lanes ready for battle. Unfortunately, both drivers went out first round.

“I was up before Andrew”, stated Dina. “I could feel my ERD powered, ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette move a bit in the burnout. I staged, and once I left she spun and chattered the tires. I let off and hit it again. I was not going to give up that easy. When I hit it again she went right and by then, I saw Benny go by me. Then, I gave up. Game over. “

Andrew was the next car up. “Once I made sure Dina was o.k., I could concentrate on my job “, stated Andrew. “ As I let off the trans-brake on my ERD powered, ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette, she just shook. The tire shake was severe. There was no saving it. “

This was the first National event for the team. Although the outcome was not what they would have liked, the Parise’s could not have been happier with how IHRA handled the event.

“From start to finish we were treated well by the IHRA staff and crew.” stated Dina. “We really had a good experience from the time we pulled in. The biggest thing for us is that we felt our safety was first and foremost taken into account. We appreciate that as drivers.”

The Parise’s would like to extend a special thank you to Nick and Chris Montana of Montana Bros. Their efforts to help the Parise Racing team do not go un-noticed.

The Parise’s would like to thank Randy Haywood , Andy Peeterson and Brandon Page for their assistance this weekend.

As the season winds down Dina and Andrew Parise would like to extend their appreciation to Crew Chief Dave Jordan. Dave‘s tireless efforts and dedication to the team are truly remarkable. The Parise’s know racing is a dangerous business, but they feel confident knowing Dave is at the helm. “We know we would not have made this much progress in so short a time without Dave”, stated Andrew. “Dina and I appreciate everything he does and we thank him very much!”

Parise Racing headed for the Shakedown at E-Town

This season has been quite a beginning for the Parise Racing team. After coming out of R&D late into the season, the Parise Racing team is beginning to pick up steam.

Next stop for the husband and wife duo is the 7th annual Shakedown at E-Town, October 17th and 18th.

“This is an event we have been coming to watch since its beginning”, stated Andrew. “This time, we are not here as spectators. Dina and I are ready to take on our competitors as well as each other. ”

Andrew will be racing his ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette and Dina, her ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette. Both cars powered by ERD (Carl Spiering) supercharged Hemi motors.

They will compete among a who’s who in the Pro Mod arena, in the Lend America Pro Mod Blown Class. Be assured that this team can hold their own among the many veterans of the sport that will be on hand in Englishtown, a fact that Andrew has proven with his win at the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association event at MIR in August.

“This is just about the closest we get to home”, stated Dina. “We are going to have some friends and family here to cheer us on. I am a hairdresser, and some of my clients are coming to watch as well. We are both excited to race. We are super competitive, and one of us is looking for bragging rights!”

As always the Parise Racing team will be raising donations as well as awareness for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Please stop by the team pit area and make a donation! It will be greatly appreciated!

Parise Racing joins growing Pro Mod list at Rockingham

While some teams are getting ready to wrap up the season, others are just getting started.

For the husband and wife team of Andrew and Dina Parise, the World Finals at Rockingham Dragway will be their first national event of the 2009 season. And what a debut it will be.

A full field of Pro Modified teams are expected to be on hand at The Rock when the International Hot Rod Association comes to town for the final race of the 2009 season October 22-25.

So what has the Parise racing team been doing in the meantime? Racing, of course.

“I have watched IHRA for years and always wanted to race with the pros. IHRA has some of the best racers in the world and to be able to compete with them is a serious honor,” Andrew said. “This year we have dedicated a lot of time to R&D to work on our program and setup our cars and it has really paid off.

“We attended races with the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods and the Pro Outlaw Doorslammers and I even won a race in MIR. To come to Rockingham and do well would be awesome. I would love for both of us to do well. As an up and coming team we are thrilled to be competing at Rockingham in IHRA.”

While the Parise racing team will definitely add an extra boost to the Pro Modified field at Rockingham, it is the uniqueness of having a husband and wife program that is the real story.

It is not uncommon for entire families to be involved in the sport, but often times that means leaving the spouses behind while the boys go off and play.

That just isn’t the case with the Parise family.

“When men go to the track they get away from their wives and girlfriends. Not me. Traveling is easy, I drive the truck and trailer and Dina does everything else. It is actually like being on a plane – I am the pilot and Dina is the co-pilot,” Andrew said. “Now racing each other, that is a different story.

“We both want the same thing and that is to win. We are both very competitive. I was a wrestler and she was a figure skater so the competition can’t be any more intense. But with two fiery Italians, it can be entertaining as well.”

The Parise Racing Team has existed for nearly a decade with Andrew getting his start behind the wheel 10 years ago and Dina joining him six years later. Simply put, after years watching her husband race, Dina began to catch the racing bug and wanted her own shot behind the wheel of a supercharged machine.

Andrew Parise

“I have always enjoyed watching Indy and NASCAR when I was younger. Then when Andrew built his Camaro and began to bracket race I was hooked,” Dina said. “No longer being satisfied watching, I needed to be behind the wheel. About three years ago Andrew handed over his 1967 supercharged Camaro and I hit the track for the first time. I have been hooked ever since.”

Both got their start in the world of bracket racing and it wasn’t until Dina asked a certain question that the pair finally made the leap to Pro Modified.

“As many people have told me, I created a monster. After Dina started driving the Camaro she wanted to go faster. How much faster was the question that I did not ask prior to buying another ’67 Camaro and have it setup for Top Sportsman,” Andrew said. “But Dina decided to pop the question – how about Pro Mod? I think I passed out.

“After getting up off the floor, we decided to build a Tim McAmis Pro Mod and the rest is history.”

With two cars and a sea of choices as to where to begin, all that was left was to decorate.

And over the next few months Dina created two of the most unique and incredible paint schemes in Pro Modified racing today. With Andrew’s car modeled after a P-40 fighter plane with a POW flag and American flag draped over both sides and Dina’s car featuring a number of scenes depicting American heroes, the pair of Pro Modifieds have become fan favorites everywhere they go.

Dina Parise

“I created both paint schemes with the talent of Barney Squires of Performance Auto Crafters. We really wanted to make a statement with both cars and without being political we designed schemes that would honor the men and women who serve our country,” Dina said. “It is quite a piece of artwork. We want people to remember that freedom is not free.”

And both admit that they wouldn’t be where they are today without the help of many who have helped the team along the way.

“We would like to thank NGK for their support. They have been with us since our Super Comp days. We also would like to thank Goodyear for their support as well,” Dina said. “A special thanks to our crew chief Dave Jordan for his tireless efforts and for putting up with us. We also wanted to mention that we are raising donations and awareness for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. We hope what we do helps these organizations.”

Dina and Andrew Parise

So with two highly competitive spouses in two incredible looking cars working together in the pits and against each other on the track, the only question that remains is who usually has the upper hand on race day?

“I think Andrew is ahead of me so far in wins so I will have to be on my game. When we race each other, I think we really put on a great show for the fans and that is what it is all about,” Dina said. “But on a big stage like Rockingham, he had better look out.”

Parise Racing Ready to Move on After DNQ at POD

The Parise Racing team has come a long way in a fairly short time. The husband and wife duo has also seen its fair share of ups and downs and this week was no exception. Parise Racing attended the Pro Outlaw Doorslammers (POD) race at Maryland International Raceway (MIR).

“My 63’ Tim McAmis Corvette was less than cooperative this weekend.”, stated Dina Parise. “For first round qualifying, I left the line and she just shook, hard. We brought her back and our crew Chief Dave Jordan made some changes. We went back for round two and she shook again, but I peddled it. It just wasn’t enough to get in the show. It’s ok. We will go back and look over the data and correct the issues before our next time out. We are confident in Dave, and that is half the battle.”

Andrew Parise was presented with problems of his own. “Just as I left the line in the first round of qualifying, my 53’ Montana Bros. Corvette blew the tires away.”, stated Andrew. “We went back and made some changes before second round. The car still shook leaving the line, but I peddled it. Like Dina, it was not enough to get in the show. It was tough for both of us to be out. Our crew chief Dave Jordan and (crew) Brandon Page did a great job this weekend. It just was not in the cards for us, I guess.”

Being at MIR for the Quartermaster’s Challenge, featuring Pro Outlaw Doorslammers was more than just a racing weekend for Parise Racing. The team held Sydney’s Butterfly Wishes Benefit with the help of POD, MIR and Quartermasters Racing. The benefit was (and still is) to aid the Meekma family in managing current and ongoing medical costs due to Sydney’s recent Leukemia diagnosis. Sydney is 5 years of age, and this is her second battle with cancer in her young life. When the team put the word out about Sydney’s Benefit, POD and its members were there to help.

Parise Racing would like to thank POD for their involvement in the benefit as well as the Pink, personalized, remote controlled car they presented to the team on Sydney’s behalf. Maurice Bea, Candyce Marsh and Jessica Petrini went above and beyond for Sydney, as did the POD organization on a whole. The team would also like to thank Keller Motor Sports for the vinyl Sydney’s Butterfly Wishes Logo.

The team on behalf of the Meekma family greatly appreciates the generosity of everyone who donated!

On another note, anyone who knows anything about the Parise’s , knows how much they respect the veterans of this country . On Sunday the team had the pleasure to meet 11 veterans from Walter Reed Army Medical Center. They were hosted for the day by Quartermasters Racing. “The veterans spent some time in our pit,” Stated Andrew. “We enjoyed talking with them. They were cheering us on. It was an honor for us.”

PARISE RACING HEADS TO POD WITH MORE THAN RACING ON THEIR MINDS.....

Parise Racing is heading to Maryland International Raceway to participate in the Pro Outlaw Doorslammers race, on September 6th .Dina ‘the Chef’ Parise in her ‘63 Tim McAmis Corvette and Andrew ‘Bam Bam’ Parise in his ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette. Dina and Andrew are ready to race, but they also have another agenda.

Parise Racing has been known for years for its work with Multiple Sclerosis and The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. None of that has changed.

What has changed is the health of a young girl; the Parise’s have come to learn about. Her name is Sydney Meekma. She is the niece of a friend, and she is in for the fight of her life. Sydney is 5 years old and in June was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Unfortunately, this is her second battle with cancer. Since her diagnosis in June, Sydney has undergone several rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and received a bone marrow transplant. The cost of these procedures is only partially covered by insurance.

Sydney’s family and friends have joined together organizing Sydney’s Butterfly Wishes Benefit (an actual benefit to be held in January, 2010).All proceeds will help manage current and ongoing medical costs. Parise Racing will be collecting donations at MIR on September 6th during the POD race. Please stop by the pit area to make a donation. If you will not be attending the race , donations may be sent directly to: P.O. Box 2456 Orland Park, IL 60462. All donations will be deposited directly into the Sydney’s Butterfly Wishes account of First United Bank. As we all know, these are tough economic times. Your donation is greatly appreciated.

Download the Sydney's Butterfly Wishes flyer HERE.

A special thanks to Pro Outlaw Doorslammers (POD), Maryland International Raceway (MIR), and Quartermasters Racing Team. All have been cooperative in helping the Parise’s organize this benefit.

See you at the races !

As always the Parise’s would like to thank NGK and Good Year for their support.

Parise Racing Headed to VMP

Parise Racing is gearing up for a double header (of sorts) at Virginia Motorsports Park this coming weekend.

Coming off of the disappointment of the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Assoc. event, Dina ‘The Chef’ Parise‘s ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette is repaired, tuned and ready to go. If you recall, she broke in the first round of qualifying and that was it for her for the day.

Friday August 28, 2009 is ladies night. As are most Friday nights at VMP. On this Friday, Dina will be taking on Ken ‘the Kid ‘Walsh in a match race.”It should be quite a show.” stated Dina “Ken and I have known each other for a few years from Super Chevy. This will be our first time being paired up. I’m looking forward to it. He is a great competitor.” Ken is the 2008 Super Chevy Show Aeromotive Nitro Coupe Champion.

On Saturday the 29th, both Andrew ‘Bam Bam’ Parise (in his ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette) and Dina ‘The Chef’ Parise will be participating in Night of Thrills (at VMP as well)! Come to VMP and see racing, hear live music and much more!

Always remember that every ticket is a pit pass! Not only is a Night of Thrills, but it is a Military appreciation night! To honor our Military, anyone with a D.O.D. ID card gets in free! Be sure to stop by the Parise Racing pit area to see the Military tributes on both cars and meet the drivers. “Coming from a Military background myself, I have profound respect for our Military personnel.”, stated Andrew “ My wife and I always feel it is important to recognize our soldiers past and present.”

Hope to see you there!

ANDREW PARISE TAKES THE WIN AT NORTHEAST OUTLAW PRO MOD ASSOC. EVENT

Andrew Parise and the Parise Racing team were noticed at the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association event at MIR this past weekend.

Andrew celebrated his 41st birthday on Friday, and the gifts kept coming, this one in the form of a win light.

“I was mainly trying to keep focused. I had to leave my problems from last week’s POD event behind. I did not want to let my team down again”, stated Andrew “We have been working hard all year, and we deserve a good result.”

Not all results were good for the Parise Racing team this weekend. Dina Parise went out in the first round of qualifying due to engine failure. “After completing my burnout, I could not get my ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette into reverse.”, stated Dina . “I shut the car down, and they pushed me back. We realized there was fluid on the track. So, we went back to the pits and assessed the damage. It was not good news. My day was over. But, we are a two car team and we support each other. Now my energy goes to concentrating on Andrew. ”

Andrew’s ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette qualified #2. That put him against Scott Cannon Jr. in the first round of eliminations. A 6.200 @ 227.04 MPH to a 6.288 @220.98 MPH.

Second round of eliminations, Andrew faced his friend and the owner of Performance Auto Crafters Barney Squires. The very person who sprayed the amazing paint schemes on both Parise Racing cars. Andrew blew Barney’s ‘door’ off (literally it flew off!). Still it was a great race. A 6.163 @227.11 MPH to a 6.394 @ 226.24 MPH .

The final round Andrew faced Tim O’Hare. It pitted ERD power against ERD power. The end result was a 6.158 @ 228.31 MPH to a 6.383 @ 224.21 MPH. Andrew takes the win!

“It was a great day! “, stated Andrew “This was a tough field today. I was up against some of the best drivers I know. Scott Jr., Barney and Tim, it was some great racing. It was great to get the win for myself and for the team; my wife Dina, Crew chief Dave Jordan, the crew Charlie Saccoccio and Bandon Page. Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association is a top notch organization that puts on a first rate show. There was unbelievable attendance until the wee hours of the morning! It was good to have Nick Montana (MBRC) on hand to help out and to see the first win. I also want to Thank NGK and GoodYear for their support. ”

Parise Racing exits early at POD

Parise Racing attended the POD race at Virginia Motorsports Park this past weekend.” It was a great day of racing”, stated Andrew Parise. “Maurice Bea of POD runs a great organization; every thing was on time and run in professional fashion. “

After struggling with her ’63 Tim McAmis Corvette at Maple Grove last month, Dina Parise qualified #3 with a 4.15 at 156.50 mph. She could not better her time in the second qualifying round and dropped to #7. “The car was working great this weekend. It felt good to finally get the out there, and not struggle with it. ”, stated Dina.

After non qualifying time in his first qualifying round due to tire shake, Andrew came back to  qualify #2 with a 4.09 at 175.30  mph in his ’53 Montana Bros. Corvette.

In round one of eliminations, Andrew had his career worst red light and handed the win over.” I was having a red light weekend; it was just a bad weekend for me”, stated Andrew, “ Now it is just time to regroup and go on to the next race”

Dina ran a career 1/8 mile best of 4.104 at 177.46 mph, but she left the tree late, very late.” I had issues with the tree but I am happy with the ET”, stated Dina, “It was frustrating to go out first round, but I am over it and ready for next week. For one thing though, we really felt let our crew down”, stated Dina,” Our crew chief, Dave Jordan did his job and we did not do ours. “

“We would like to thank Dave Jordan for all he does for us. Dave has to travel back and forth to and from New York and leave his new wife, Bambi at home”, stated Andrew, “We want them to know, and we appreciate the sacrifice.”

Next, Parise Racing will be attending the North East Pro Mod Association August 15th at MIR.

PARISE RACING HEADS TO VMP FOR PRO OUTLAW DOORSLAMMERS !!

Parise Racing left Super Chevy at Maple Grove with mixed emotions. But as they say, “that’s Drag Racing”. So now it is on to Virginia Motorsports Park and POD. It is a new week and a new race. This will be the first POD race for Parise Racing.

“I have put the troubles of Maple Grove behind me”, stated Dina. “If you let it get to you, you’re sunk. We will get this ’63 Tim McAmis , ERD powered  Corvette down the track , and we will put a good number on the board.”

Andrew Parise’s ’53 Montana Bros Corvette performed well at Maple Grove.”We still feel we are not quite where we want to be “, stated Andrew “but we have come a long way. Our crew Chief Dave Jordan is the best there is. He always does a great job. ”

With Parise Racing, competition goes to a whole different level!  This husband vs. wife rivalry not only makes them unique, but it also pushes both of them to be the very best competitors they can be. That alone is worth the price of admission! Who are you rooting for?

To cheer on your favorite Parise Racing driver, you can find them at POD on Saturday, August, 8th at Virginia Motorsports Park. Gates open at 9:00 am. Come by the pit area and see both Corvettes up close! See you at the races!

Parise Racing attended its first Super Chevy Show at Maple Grove, with their 53’ and 63’ Pro Mods. “We love Super Chevy at the Grove!”, stated Dina Parise. “From Bracket Racing to Pro Mods it came full circle, right at this very track. It’s fantastic!”

As part of their ‘Vettes for Vets’ program, Parise Racing had the honor of having three Vietnam Veterans in their hospitality and pit area all day Saturday. A special ‘Thank you‘ to Super Chevy as well as announcer Jerry Daisy for his outstanding dedication, as all three gentlemen were introduced to a packed house.  The background on these gentlemen is amazing. Parise Racing was proud to recognize their years of sacrifice, service and dedication.

The rivalry between Andrew and Dina was on going all weekend. “Even though it was only exhibition, I knew I had to be on my game”, stated Andrew Parise.  “My wife is very competitive and takes this very seriously, and if I lost I would never have heard the end of it.  And, from what I heard I wasn’t getting good odds”, stated Andrew.”  When Jerry Daisy started to ask the crowd who they were rooting for, I could hear in the car that it wasn’t me”.

The 53’ Montana Brothers Corvette, with ERD Carl Spiering power ran a .986 , 60 foot with a 6.20 at 226 mph in the ¼.  “The car felt great going down the track. It has taken some time with the Bruno setup but it is paying off”, stated Andrew.  “Our Crew Chief, Dave Jordan has done a great job of tuning the car. I want to thank him for a job well done! I also want to welcome Brandon Page to our team. He did an outstanding job this weekend as well!”

“It was a tough weekend for me”, stated Dina. My 63’ Tim McAmis Corvette was not cooperating and kept driving to the left. Our Crew Chief, Dave Jordan did everything possible to fix the problem but we just couldn’t get it fixed in time,” stated Dina.  “I gave it my best shot each time. I really wanted to win. The third race, I did catch Andrew at about the 330 or so but had to lift due to it going left again. Andrew had to pedal it as well as he got loose too. I later found out that he saw me coming up on him and got nervous.  My best 60 ft. was a .994 using our ERD Carl Spiering power .The rivalry between us is growing. I plan on taking the win light from Andrew shortly.”

Parise Racing would like to Thank:  NGK, Good Year, ERD and Tim McAmis.

Parise Racing would also like to mention:  Super Chevy, Fiore Bros. Racing, Broken Arrow Racing, and F1 Hospitality.

From Super Comp bracket racing to Pro Mod heads up racing. It has come full circle. For Dina and Andrew Parise, this is going to be a real knock down drag out, fight to the finish…as they say.

They are going back to where it all began. Maple Grove Super Chevy is where Dina first watched Andrew race his 1967 blown Camaro. It is where she got the ‘bug’. It is where Andrew first unveiled the 53 Corvette Pro Mod paint scheme. It is also where Dina first ran the same 1967 blown Camaro Andrew once ran.

It has now come full circle. No more bracket racing. Pure heads up, run what you brung racing!  Now it is time for these two drivers to go head to head in an exhibition race.  Let’s call it what it is, its double trouble.

It has been overheard in the pits that Crew Chief Dave Jordan has rented a getaway vehicle. He is not yet sure whom he will be running from, that remains to be seen.

So come and watch Parise Racing at the Super Chevy Show! Check the EVENTS tab for more information.

Whether you are involved in the sport of Drag Racing or not, you can definitely see the correlation between high powered race cars and all types of aircraft.

This Memorial Day weekend, Parise Racing took time out to slow down and recognize Memorial Day for what it is all about.

Parise Racing  spent Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day weekend  at the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale, NY. Rather than a garage, the Pro Mods were displayed in a hangar along with historic American Military aircraft.

While the two days could be emotional at times, it was quite rewarding for the team as well. In the midst of honoring the fallen heroes of the U.S. military, the team met a few service men and women currently serving. Their appreciation for the paint schemes on the Tim McAmis 63 Vette and the Montana Bros. 53 Vette was far out-weighed by our appreciation for what they have sacrificed for this country. The same goes for the many other veterans the team had the honor to speak to over the two days.   We want to thank them ALL for their service and sacrifice.

The team got up close and personal with the A-10 East Demonstration team and the A-10 Thunderbolt ll . This aircraft makes exceptional aerial maneuvers. This Air Force Aircraft is designed for close air support of ground forces.  The team was very accessible and gave a tour of the aircraft. In turn, their team was given a tour of the Pro Mods! There was talk of a race down the tarmac……….

Taking part in the festivities was one of the original ‘Rosie the Riveters’.  She and others played a big role in building the A-10 right here on Long Island, NY. Although her given name is Josephine, she says you can call her Rosie. Listening to her recall stories of women being test pilots for the aircraft due to the men being overseas at war was amazing. Did you know that women were the ones who built the planes, but never received credit until recently? Or that they were too young to have a driver’s license, but they could fly a plane? They are the unsung heroes.

The ‘Freedoms Flying Memorial’ Marine Helicopter Squadron 361 was also on hand. They were gracious enough to let us take photos with the cars. This helicopter is a traveling museum itself. They rely completely on donations, and what they can afford on their own. It was found in a junkyard and brought back to life. Very impressive.

Lastly the team would like to acknowledge the Warbirds over Long Island and Chris Baranakas. Chris flies a p-51 Mustang and his Dad Bob flew a P-40 ‘Warhahawk’ ,the very aircraft that inspired the paint scheme for the 53 Vette.

Bob was killed in April when his plane crashed while performing maneuvers on Long Island.

Since recently losing his ‘wingman’, Chris has still persevered and continued the presentation of these World War ll aircraft. He is continuing his father’s passion to keep the public in touch with our heritage, the fighters that were flown and the men and women who flew them. Preserving our nation’s former weapons of war for future generations to see and learn from is an obligation the Warbirds take seriously and we are all the better for the work you do.

This edition of Parise Racing news is not going to be about us, our cars or any new developments in the Parise Racing program. We felt the need to post a story relative to what we do, but with no relation to Drag Racing at all.

While away at our testing session, I received this e-mail from a very close friend’s son. His mom and have known each other since grade school. She is one of the most down to earth, funny and beautiful people I know. Let me also say, she has a wonderful family as well. She is battling MS.

As most of you may know, Parise Racing has been raising donations and awareness for MS for 5 years now. Within that time we have learned all too much how this awful disease hits so close to home.
Below is James’ letter. If you can help, please do.

Hi Everyone,
Hope you don't mind me contacting you, you all know that my mom has MS. It's something she struggles with every day, even though when you ask her how she is, she'll always say she's fine. That's just how my mom is(she tries to seem macho). Sometimes people ask what they can do for her, she always says nothing she's fine. But now you can help her and others with MS. That's why me and my friends are walking in the MS Walk next Sunday. We want to help raise money that will find the cure, raise money that will make advances to help her live her life better, and other like her. They have already made progress with MS, like the shots she takes everyday, that wasn’t always around to help others, but research helped develop this drug that is keeping my mother healthier with less problems. With your help, with my walk, we can help find a cure, or at least ways to help her live better.

We've only got ONE week left; the MS Walk is next Sunday, May 3rd. So if you can, any little amount you can donate would be great (a lot is good too). Every little bit adds up, that’s how I've already made it 1/2 way to my goal, and my team is busy collecting from their friends and family too. So as a team we're trying to get to our goal.

Please if you can, visit my website at http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/james.morrone
or if you want to send me a check... make it out to NMSLLI-Walk MS, and mail it to my house before next Saturday
oh--- if you know of someone you think will want to check out my website, and/or donate.. Please fwd this to them too!

Thanks Everyone, I hope can count on your support!
James Anthony

As a team, we at Parise Racing felt the need to show our veterans how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice. We understand that ‘freedom is not free', and we wanted to find a way to say ‘thank you'.First, we created the paint scheme for Andrew's 1953 Montana Bros. built Corvette Pro Mod. It is a beautiful car modeled after a p-40 fighter jet, with POW/MIA flags and a fallen soldier on the back deck. We met many veterans that viewed the car, and the feedback was very positive. They thanked us, go figure! When it came to creating a scheme for Dina's 1963 Tim McAmis built Corvette Pro Mod, we really wanted to make a statement. We want the fans to look at the car and make them think. Our hope is that next time they meet a veteran, or someone currently in any branch of the military they will shake their hand and say ‘thank you'. We were able to accomplish this with the experts at Performance Auto Crafters. We gave them the ideas and a concept. Just as with the Andrew's car they nailed it. The most moving tribute on the car is our piece of the Vietnam Wall. We have two names in particular that are special to us on the car; John C. Oldfied and James Cain. James Cain is our friends Dad who was a veteran of three wars. He was wounded in Vietnam, after coming under enemy fire. He subsequently died of his injuries after returning stateside. We placed his name on our car due to the fact that he has been denied having his name placed on the ‘Wall' in Washington. Maybe this will bring him one step closer to where he should really be, who knows. Both paint schemes also help in representing our support for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The fund benefits service men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with severe injuries and/or severe brain trauma. 100% of funds raised go directly to the fund. For more information please visit: www.pariseracing.com We have plenty of news to come, so keep checking the website for updates. and schedules.Dina and Andrew PariseParise Racing

With Christmas coming Andrew Parise thought of a great present for Dina Parise. So he purchased a new 526 ERD Hemi from ERD, Carl Spiering. With the help from Carl Spiering, Terry and Rob at ERD Dina is going to a new engine program for her 63 Tim McAmis Corvette in 2009. ERD has a proven record of knowledge and power. Tony Pontieri ran 5.90's at the NHRA Jegs Pro Mod event at Virginia Motorsports Park. "It is not everyday a woman gets a Hemi for Christmas, (and is excited about it)" stated Dina." and I am very excited about it."

With this latest edition to the engine program, Parise Racing now runs a 526 ERD Hemi in both the 53 Montana Bros. Corvette and 63 Tim McAmis Corvette Pro Mods. "We feel that ERD and Carl Spiering have a winning combination for us. Both Dina and I are very comfortable with our set ups. It should be a great season," stated Andrew.

Next, was to create a memorable paint scheme for the car. It is not your typical paint scheme and we could only trust one person, Barney Squires at Performance Auto Crafters, in Virginia. This paint scheme will not only look phenomenal, but it will send a message and make the fans think. Racing to win as well as with a purpose, that is what Parise Racing is about as a team.

So, stay tuned to www.pariseracing.com for the latest details! Check back to see the completed paint scheme and for more information.

" We tested both race cars last month at Virginia Motorsports and the outcome was great", stated Andrew Parise, They say patience is a virtue. This was a long process. I'm glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel ."

Andrew is driving the Montana Bros. built 1953 Corvette , powered by a 526 Hemi from ERD , Carl Speiring." It was a great site to see", stated Dina Parise. "It was wonderful to see the car on the track, and to see Andrew behind the wheel again was even better. We have worked on this program for a long time and it finally paid off "

Dina is driving her Tim McAmis 1963 Corvette. " We had the nerves going. It is a big step going from a bracket car running low 9's to a Pro Mod, but I know my wife. As a former professional figure skater she has determination and the mind set to succeed ," stated Andrew. " Dina had a lot to learn , and she was like a sponge . From the start up to burnouts she did a awesome job. With the couple days of testing she proved to everyone she is going to be a great driver ."

The Parise Racing program is constantly changing for the better and it could not be accomplished without ERD, Carl Speiring, Terry and Rob. " I know we made the right choice on working with ERD ", stated Andrew. " Carl is consulting for the team as well as having built the 526 Hemi in the '53. He and his team will continue to work closely with Parise Racing . "

Parise Racing has had many positive changes to the team. Another positive change is the addition of Dave Jordan as Crew Chief." Dave was on hand during our testing and was right at home with the Pro Mods as well as the team ", stated Dina. " It was great to have Dave at the test session . Getting him acclimated to the cars and the team was very important for all of us ", stated Andrew. " We wanted someone with experience and a good attitude running our cars . Dave fit what we were looking for and we couldn't be happier ."

Parise Racing has made many positive changes and is anticipating the 2009 season.

Dina and Andrew would like to thank :

Carl, Terry and Rob from ERD for awesome engine program and more than anything , keeping us safe.

Dave Jordan for coming on as Crew Chief and getting to work as fast as he did

Charlie Saccoccio, AKA Uncle Mel, who was on his game all three days of testing.

The crew in VMP for giving us a great race track that provided some good racing .

Parise Racing 63 Vette Tim McAmis built Pro Mod Has Arrived!
On July 20th at the Super Chevy Show event in Maple Grove, the 67 camaro saw the race track for the last time . This was a great race car but it is time to put her back on the street and do some cruising. The camaro was first driven by Andrew Parise then Dina Parise and has been through many changes. With numerous engine explosions, a couple of transmissions and one fire she has earned her retirement.

With the camaro retired Dina has moved on to a 1963 Blown Corvette Pro Mod built by Tim McAmis. Tim McAmis Race Cars did a great job on the car . Fitting a small driver was no easy task and posed some issues, but the team at Tim McAmis got the job done.www.timmcamis.com .

Both Andrew and Dina are very competitive people. With two Pro Mods in the family, next season should be exciting , to say the least!

We update our ‘news' page on our website frequently, so keep checking our progress!
